5 Ways To Improve Your Makeup

Don't change the way you look, just improve it! Here are 5 under-the radar makeup tips  to look like you - but better.

1.  Add Lashes

Thick, full lashes are a great way to make your eyes look bigger and brighter. Take it a step further than mascara and add false lashes. You can apply individuals or strip lashes yourself or get lash extensions (available in salons), which can last about a month. Many people get them for a big night out, but they're also perfect for everyday or on a vacation.

2. Create a Glow

Add a glow to your makeup routine with a highlighter. A highlighter attracts light, creating the illusion of brightness and height. Add highlighter to your cheekbones to make your cheeks look higher. For an instant brow lift, dab it under the arch of your eyebrows.

3. Scrub your lips

No one wants to see dry, cracked lips, and chapstick can only go so far. Try exfoliating your lips with a lip scrub. Not only will it get rid of flaky skin, leaving your lips soft and supple, but it will also help your lipstick go on smoother. Try:  Anne's Apothecary Hydrate 8+ Lip Scrub ($12)

4. Change your tools

Applying your makeup with the right tools can be the difference between your makeup looking cakey or natural. Therefore, consider switching your makeup tools. Go from those white, disposable sponges (which can absorb a lot of makeup) to aBeautyBlender. Instead of applying powder with a puff, try a  buffing brush.

5.  Switch lipstick formula

If you normally wear gloss, try a matte formula. If you usually go for cream lipstick, try just a lip pencil. You will be surprised how changing your lipstick can improve your look. Updating something as simple as your lipstick formula can make you feel like a new women.
